My dear Colleague:

With the forthcoming Congress, the IPV publisher plans to put out a calendar listing the members of the Psychoanalytic Association. Circumstances seem to require the elimination of your name from the register of the German Psychoanalytic Society. I would greatly appreciate it if you would regard our request with understanding, relegating to the background any possible personal feelings in the interest of our psychoanalytic cause in Germany and expressing your agreement with this step.

As a scholar and author you are too well known to the international world of psychoanalysts for this omission to cause you the slightest harm, as it might, for example, affect a newcomer in the field. Furthermore, the whole problem will be academic once the Scandinavian group is recognized at the Congress, thus assuring your inclusion in future membership lists of this new group.
